My morning did not go as expected. I awoke from a restless night’s sleep, (waking up nearly every hour to pray and engage in spiritual warfare), and began getting ready to attend church. The time had finally arrived for our family to venture out and try a new church. My daughter and her husband (18 year old newlyweds) got into their truck, and the rest of our family got into our vehicle, and we set out, following the directions of our GPS.
Both vehicles reached the traffic light, only we turned in opposite directions. I quickly texted my daughter to let them know they were heading the wrong way! Not inly did they go the wrong direction, but the rest of us ended up taking a wrong turn as well. Frustration levels were already high, but they climbed to a higher level afterwards. Then it came.
“We smell gas,” read the text from my daughter, and “His truck is on fire!!” We turned around as quickly and sped toward their location. Flames had engulfed the truck and the truck went fast. My daughter and son-in-law barely had time to get out as the flames were already around their doors. My daughter fell out of the truck, and fell again as she tried ti run away from it. The flames had been much too close for comfort. I stared into what was left of the truck and it brought me to tears; I thought of all the time, effort, and money he had spent working toward restoring the old truck, and he was so proud of it, showing it off to everyone who would take the time to look. We spent numerous hours outside as he worked on it, and made more trips to the auto store than I can count. All of the memories stored up in the cab of that old country truck were gone in an instant.

I am not usually one to ask for money, but on their behalf, and on this rare occasion, I am asking you to stand with this young couple in their quest to obtain a new vehicle. Though currently employed, they are still getting on their feet and the truck was their only means of transportation back and forth to work. Please consider donating via their Go Fund Me page (I have included the link below). Any amount is greatly appreciated and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless.
