I am thinking this morning about the different stages of Christianity. I have seen people get born again, then like a pendulum they swing all the way over to legalism, swing all the way back over to hypergrace, and hopefully they eventually level out and get a good understanding of who God is. However, some seem to get stuck in one area or the other.
Today I’m thinking of how some tend to get stuck at the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. They know they’re saved, know they’re forgiven of all their sins, but that’s where they stop. They never progress into gaining an understanding of how to live this new life, and what’s required of them, seated with Christ Jesus in the heavenly realm (Ephesians 2:6). As born again believers, we are now in two places at once – on this earth and in the heavenly realm – and it is imperative we learn how to operate in both places at once.
How many of us have heard we’re not just natural, we’re supernatural? This is the same as saying we’re both earthly beings, and heavenly beings. We live both in this world, but we’re not of this world (John 17:16). We are of heavenly descent and a new creation in Christ. Our first step as a new creation is to gain an understanding of who God is, who we are in Christ Jesus, and what rightfully belongs to us. The next step is learning how to appropriate this knew revelation. How do we apply the “super” to the natural?
Some have believed that because we are not of this world (we are of heavenly descent) that we should ignore the natural. Some have chosen not to vote in elections or get involved in any sort of government, some have died prematurely because they refused to utilize doctors and medicine, and some have resolved to live in poverty due to their belief that money is a natural thing and has nothing to do with the Kingdom of Heaven. This is faulty thinking. God has placed us here for a reason, and given us gifts, abilities, and divine strategies to be used in the natural realm that will not only benefit us, but in turn advance His Kingdom. He has given us dominion over this world and everything in it. We are to “tend” to this earth as Adam and Eve were instructed to tend to the garden, keeping the enemy out of our land. Matthew 28:18 says, “Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.'” Thus, because all authority belongs to Jesus, it also belongs to us. We share in the inheritance of Christ (Romans 8:17). God did not give us 3/4 of the world, and leave 1/4 to the devil. He gave ALL authority to Jesus, therefore ALL authority has been given to us as well. It’s our responsibility to take back any land we have allowed the enemy rule. We are to move forward as one large army in Christ, pushing out the darkness, and taking our rightful places as kings and priests. This means we should be infiltrating, and taking over every natural area within this earth – including the governmental sphere. We have been given the Holy Spirit as our helper, and He will guide and direct us, showing us exactly what that looks like. To some it may look like becoming the CEO of a large influencial company, others may get involved on the local school board. Still others may purchase large amounts of land for use in the Kingdom of God, or may be involved in financial distribution, providing the funds needed to others who are also involved in advancing the kingdom of God in various ways. Maybe you’re the garbage man in your area. You can still take land for the kingdom of God! No job is too small. Simply get with God and figure out what applying the super to your natural looks like for you.
Father God, I ask that you will reveal to us what areas you have called us to, and how to apply the super to our natural. We ask for divine strategies be released unto us that we can take land for you and advance your kingdom. In Jesus’s Name. Amen.
